As an admin, you control who can do what in your PrayerConnect account.
Changing User Roles
How to Change a Role
- Go to Settings → Users
- Find the user in the list
- Click on their current role badge
- Select the new role from the dropdown
- Changes take effect immediately
Role Hierarchy
- Member: Basic access
- Moderator: Member + moderation capabilities
- Admin: Full access to everything
Important Rules
You Can't Demote Yourself
For security, admins cannot change their own role. This prevents accidental lockouts. At Least One Admin Required
The system ensures at least one admin exists at all times.Role Changes Are Logged
All role changes are recorded in the audit log for accountability.Removing Users
How to Remove
- Go to Settings → Users
- Find the user
- Click the remove/delete icon
- Confirm the removal
What Happens
- They lose access to your church's PrayerConnect
- Their prayer requests remain (attributed to their name or "Former Member")
- They can rejoin if invited again
Suspending vs. Removing
Consider temporarily changing someone to Member role instead of removing them if:
- It's a temporary situation
- You want to preserve their request history
- They might return later
Bulk Actions
For larger teams, you can:
- Export user list
- Filter by role
- Sort by join date or last active
Access Review Best Practices
Quarterly Review
Every 3 months, review your user list:- Remove inactive users
- Verify roles are still appropriate
- Check for any orphaned accounts
When Staff Leave
Immediately:- Remove their access
- Reassign their responsibilities
- Update any shared credentials
